WEED CONTROL > Cost Share Program
Description of Cost Share Program
Alamosa County will assist any willing landowner within Alamosa County in the
eradication or control of weeds deemed noxious by the State of Colorado. The
County will pay 40% of the cost of the noxious weed removal operation and the
landowner paying 60%. The total percentage of help to a landowner will not
exceed $400.00.
This assistance can be for any form of weed removal as long
as the operation is a legitimate weed control measure. Alamosa County Weed
Control can do the
actual work at set rates; the landowner can do the work, or hire an independent
contractor. The work can include spraying, chopping, hydro seeding, burning,
noxious tree removal etc. However, the Alamosa County Weed Control Supervisor
must see the problem prior to any agency other than Alamosa County Weed Control
doing the work to receive this assistance.
The funds may not always be available
all summer long so the allocation of the Cost Share Program funds
is on a first come, first serve basis. If the
money
is not available at the moment the landowner is in line for the next time
funding is possible. |
