The County Building Official is authorized and directed to enforce all the provisions of the Building Code. For such purposes, the building official has the powers of a law enforcement official.

The building official has the power to make interpretations of the codes and to adopt and enforce rules and supplemental regulations to clarify the application of its provisions. Such interpretations, rules and regulations shall be in conformance with the intent and purpose of the building code.
