Alamosa County Department of Building Safety has adopted the 2003 International Residential Code, International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, and the 2006 IECC. The Department also administers permitting and inspections for unincorporated areas of Alamosa County and the Community of Mosca & the Town of Hooper.

A building permit is required for the following:

• New building construction
• Additions and alterations to an existing building
• Repairs to an existing building
• Changing the use or occupancy of an existing building
• Moving a building
• Demolishing a building and
• Abating unsafe buildings or structures
• Re-roofing and siding
