George Wilkinson
District Three 2005 - 2008
Sworn in as Alamosa County Commissioner
January 11, 2005
When elected George 's interest was to represent
the people of Alamosa County. He believes it is of utmost importance
to be fair, honest and opened minded with everyone and look at the
issues that arise with clarity. The office is currently run efficiently
and George looks forward to working with the other commissioners
continuing to make Alamosa County a great place to live and work.
George
has lived in the valley his entire life and has always been interested
in economics, the people and the infrastructure of the valley. He
worked for the Colorado Department of Transportation for over 38
years and retired in 2001. George decided he wanted to do something
positive for his community after retirement and decided to run for
a county government position.
His goal is to plan and put infrastructures
in place that reach far into the future. By looking ahead he hopes
to create forward-thinking solutions. George is intrested in creating
a positive emprowering environment to help others contribute to the
good of the community.
George wants to improve living conditions,
improve economic development, and improve access in and out of
the valley. He believes it is essential to work as a team with the
city and state agencies and other citizen groups throughout the area
to succeed in accomplishing the goals of Alamosa County and the people
of the San Luis Valley. |
