What documents are required to register a vehicle?
- Title and proof of insurance when buying from an individual.
- If vehicle is purchased from a dealer we need all the paperwork the dealer gives you.
What are the title fees?

$7.20 plus sales tax.
- $8.20 for duplicate title.
What is the sale tax?
- State is 2.9%
- County is 2%
- City is 2% of the purchase price.
- There is no County sales tax if the vehicle is purchased out of Alamosa County.
What documents are required for a permit?

Notarized bill of sale or bill of sale with perjury statement or title.
- Proof of Insurance.
- Valid Identification.

Fees vary depending on weight, taxable value, and year of the vehicle.
What kind of plates do you offer?
- Approximately 100 plates, most of which require specific qualifications.
- Some special plates have an additional $50.00 one time fee and some have an additional $25.00 per year
What is required to register an out of State vehicle?
- Current registration or title
- Vin verification required.
- Proof of insurance.
- Weight slip required on pickups that weigh over 4500 lbs.
- Valid Identification.
What are the fees to file a security agreement?
- $5.00 per page for 81/2 x 11.
- $10.00 per page for 11 x 17.
